Local Star Rebecca Craven to Spread Some Magic in the Grand Pavilion

The Grand Pavilion in Porthcawl are delighted to announce that Rebecca Craven will be starring in their gigantic family panto Jack and the Beanstalk this Christmas.

Rebecca is well known to fans of the BBC drama Waterloo Road as Rhiannon Salt, a role she played for three years. Rebecca has also appeared in Doctors and Cradle to the Grave. She then moved in to musical theatre playing Tracy Turnblad in Hairspray at the Curve in Leicester, for which she received rave reviews, and earlier this year starred in Only the Brave at the Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff, a musical based on the D Day Landings.

Rebecca hails from nearby Neath and she is delighted to be back in Wales to spend the festive season with her family and to appear in the Grand Pavilion’s spectacular festive panto.

Rebecca says “Although I live in London at the moment I have many friends and family in Wales and I have heard that the Porthcawl panto is always brilliant fun!”

Louise Redmond, Head of Casting at Imagine Theatre, says “We saw Rebecca in Hairspray a couple of years back and absolutely loved her. Once we knew we were doing Jack and the Beanstalk in Porthcawl I immediately thought of her for the role of Fairy. The Fairy in Jack and the Beanstalk is really fun, quirky, cheeky and quite feisty and she spars with the wicked mischief making Fleshcreep quite a lot, so it is an ideal role for Rebecca.”

Rebecca will be starring alongside Grand Pavilion favourites Jolyon Dixon as Dame Trot and Nathan Guy as Simple Simon.

Jack and the Beanstalk runs from Friday 9 until Saturday 31 December 2016. After two record breaking seasons we advise booking tickets early to ensure you get seats at your preferred performance.
