The impact of COVID-19 the Coronavirus is affecting us all. On the evening of 16th March, the Grand Pavilion was forced to close its doors in support of the effort to slow down the spread of this disease.

The Grand Pavilion is not just a theatre but a vital community venue and through its events and activities contributes over £6M a year to the local economy. It supports jobs, wellbeing and tourism.

The Grand Pavilion is managed by Awen Cultural Trust, a registered charity. The financial implications of closing our doors for the foreseeable future is significant and we are asking for your help.

Most of our income comes from loyal customers attending our shows and spending time in our Caffi Bar. Without you, the vast majority of our income is gone.

We are working hard behind-the-scenes with our partners and where we can will be rescheduling the events affected by our closure. If we do, your tickets will automatically be valid for the rearranged date.

However, if we need to cancel the event, you will of course be entitled to a refund and our Box Office staff will be in touch to discuss this.

If your circumstances allow and you would like to consider donating the value of your tickets – or indeed anything at all – we would be ever so grateful. Or you may consider supporting us by becoming a ‘Friend’ of the Grand Pavilion, our membership scheme.

The Grand Pavilion was built in the midst of the Great Depression – a symbol of hope and optimism in the darkest of times. With your help and support now, and your patronage in the future, it will continue to deliver joy for the people of Porthcawl and beyond, once this crisis is over.
