The doors have closed on the Grand Pavilion in Porthcawl’s most successful pantomime season ever with almost 18,000 tickets sold.
Richard Hughes, Chief Executive of Awen Cultural Trust said “Snow White has broken all previous box office records during its four week run, much to our delight. Our competitively priced tickets have been extremely popular with patrons this year and the take up from schools has been extremely high”.
Stephen Boden, Managing Director of Imagine Theatre says “each year the reputation of the Grand Pavilion panto has been growing and to have more people than ever before seeing the show is fantastic to see, and down to the great reputation that the pantomime and the venue have”.
The audience reviews on social media were full of praise for the show with comments such as:
“We brought our 6 year old and all had a very entertaining night, so congratulations, we have already booked for next year.”
“Fantastic show, laughed from beginning to end!”
“Thoroughly enjoyed – my 5 year old interacted from beginning to end”
“We are going a second time. My 2 year old daughter loved shouting ‘he’s behind you’!”
“Just seen today’s final show with my daughter. It was amazing, the show had plenty of humour and giggles! Made our day and start to the New Year, thank you all.”
“My granddaughter is still singing ‘we will have to do it again then won’t we wooo’ many thanks for a lovely evening and helping us to make memories!”
Hughes continued with “I would just like to say thank you to each and every one of you that made this year’s panto so special and we can’t wait to bring you Aladdin. It may seem a long way away but we already have 12 schools booked, so don’t wait too long before getting your tickets!”
The Grand Pavilion is managed by Awen Cultural Trust, a registered charity, in partnership with Bridgend County Borough Council. Awen has already announced their 2020 panto – Aladdin, making wishes come true. After such a smash hit this season it is recommended you book early to avoid disappointment.
